A. INTRODUCTION
As communication technologies and trade become increasingly international and as expatriate employment becomes more common, more companies recognize the need to become "global" and are re-engineering their entire business structures to that end.This global growth and expansion of business has led multinational companies, under the pressure of trade unions, non-governmental organizations and consumers which are campaigning for international action against labor rights violations, to adopt ethical guidelines and voluntary workplace codes of conduct in order to maintain minimum labor standards in their subsidiaries all over the world.Some multinational companies have even created workplace codes of conduct applicable to their vendors, licensees and suppliers and more generally to their contractors and business partners.
