La réserve fédérale américaine souhaite réglementer les prêts immobiliers

La réserve fédérale américaine (Fed) a annoncé mardi 18 décembre 2007 un ensemble de réglementations visant à durcir les conditions d'octroi de crédits immobiliers. Les propositions comportent deux volets : l'un concernant l'ensemble des prêts immobiliers et l'autre plus spécifiquement les prêts subprimes. Ces mesures devraient interdire notamment l'accumulation des pénalités de retard de paiement des crédits immobiliers et contraindre les banques à clarifier le calendrier ainsi que l'ajustement des taux variables proposés. D'autres mesures devraient être spécifiquement dédiées aux emprunteurs à risque : les établissements de crédit devront ainsi vérifier la solvabilité de leurs clients.
